I would just like to extend my thanks to everyone who attended the Tea and Cakes event this afternoon.
It was lovely to see everybody and to hear such positive feedback is really good.
I am already working on taking up many of the suggestions including the onsite noticeboard and a public composting area.
I have decided it is time for everyone to come together to discuss the first few months of Carrot Patch Allotments.
It will be a great opportunity for everyone to share ideas and recommendations, also a general catch up and look around.
Our Tea and Cake afternoon is Sunday 4th September and the Carrot Patch Site, Crouch Lane. It will be between 3pm-5pm, everyone is welcome and if you could possibly RSVP that would be kindly appreciated.
Hope growing is going well and I look forward to seeing you.
Any ideas on what competitions we should hold?
- The best vegetable, (biggest marrow, most unusual looking tomato)
- The tidiest plot.
- The most unique looking plot.
- The best looking home made scarecrow.
- The tastiest jam made from fruit from your plot.
- The most original recipe made from vegetables from your plot.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
I have just discovered this website, full of ‘Recipes’, ‘Grow Guides’ and a ‘Sowing Calendar’.
I would recommend you all have a look at this and let me know what you think.
Whether you’ve got an allotment or not, you might know someone else who wants one. Point them to this website, and when they sign-up for an allotment and mention your name we’ll send you a £5 Tesco gift voucher – ideal for the large gardening section at our allotment’s local Tesco.
